Obituary of Virginia Sales Lara

Dr. Virginia S. Lara Age 81 - passed on to the eternities peacefully in her sleep in Elk Grove, CA on Christmas Eve 2021. Virginia was born in Occidental Mindoro, Philippines and was raised by her beloved mother Fidela and step-father Rafael Mondoñedo. After receiving her doctorate in dentistry, she married Rouel S. Lara and immigrated to the U.S. and started their new lives in San Francisco before settling down in Sacramento, CA. She retired from the California Dept. of Motor Vehicles. Virginia loved to play the piano, ballroom dancing, cooking, singing karaoke and playing mah-jong with her friends. She spent her retirement years being an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #604 and caring for her husband, going for walks together and enjoying breakfasts at the Pancake Circus. She was cared for and looked after by her niece Editha after her husband’s passing. Virginia is survived by her son Ryan, daughter Karen, sisters Evelyn, Elsa and Teresita, and her brother Philip, grandchildren Jaleyna, Zoey, Peyton, Cody and Xime. Her ashes will be placed with her husband at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
